Update from the Winter Cup in Ikast:
Training 1: Superb speed with good tires and a good engine. Finished p1 with a tenth of a second to p2, but 6 kg underweight.
Training 2: Again, good pace this time with appropriate weight. Finished p1 again with a tenth to p2.
Training 3: We changed the setup, which didn't quite work. Some of the others had new tires, but I didn't. Finished p4 with two tenths to p1.
Qualifying: ended up in a bad spot on the track with traffic. Finished a little disappointingly in P6.
Heat 1: Good start and stayed in fifth place for most of the race. With three laps to go, the driver behind me decided to drive into the side of my kart. He lifted off and landed on top of my kart, sliding off and flipping over. My radiator lost water and the engine was destroyed, which meant I was out of heat 1.
Heat 2: We change the engine and fix what we can with a solid dose of duct tape. Unfortunately, I have to start from p18, and it turns out that the collision in heat 1 has completely warped the frame. I drive half a second slower and finish p12.
The final: I drop back at the start because the kart brakes very unevenly to the left due to the bent frame. I fight my way up from last place (P21) and finish in P12. That was almost an achievement in itself, as the kart was driving sideways throughout the race.
All in all, it was a terrible day, with an early crash that ruined the rest of the day and several days of training in Ikast. The kart is pretty much a total write-off, and the engine is probably ruined too. On a positive note, when the kart was intact, I had the speed to do really well.
I am now looking forward to DRMC in Rødby in two weeks.
Date of the business club event
I can now also announce the date for the business club's go-kart event. It will take place on Monday, June 2, in Vojens, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Despite accidents that were beyond your control, you proved yourself to be a super-fast and skilled driver, fighting your way up with a crooked kart. Well done, Frederik, but it's a shame your kart was destroyed
Best regards from your fan in Vind.
