“The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.” – Richard Marcinko, Rogue Warrior (1992)
My name is Frederik, and I am 17 years old, raised in Åes near Hovedgård north of Horsens. My journey into the world of motorsport began back in 2017, when, at the age of 8, I started driving rental go-karts in Vandel. It was here that I first felt the adrenaline and fascination of driving on the track, and I quickly knew that I wanted to go all the way in the sport.
In 2021, I expanded my passion by throwing myself into sim racing, where I quickly showed that I could compete at the highest level. I participated three times in the Danish Sim Racing Championship 1st Division, among Denmark's 20 best sim racers, which was a fantastic experience that gave me both technical knowledge and mental skills that I could take with me going forward.
In 2024, I decided to take a big step and switch from sim racing and rental karts to professional racing karts. At the same time, I started at Tronsø Efterskole on the karting track, where I had the opportunity to focus 100% on my development as a driver while completing 9th grade. At boarding school, I trained intensively every day and gained a lot of experience with both technique and tactics, which are necessary to succeed in the professional go-kart world.
In August 2025, I started at STX at Horsens Gymnasium as a Sports College student, which allows me to pursue my passion while continuing my education.
It has been an exciting journey so far, and I am incredibly motivated to continue my development as a driver. I know that it will take both hard work and determination to achieve my goals, but I am ready to give my all to achieve my dreams in motorsport.
With RS Competition behind me, I have high hopes for this season, which will mainly be international, as the team and I have decided to race in Rotax DD2. I am a tall driver, and my high center of gravity makes Rotax DD2 the perfect choice.

A little about the kart Frederik drives
The Rotax Max DD2 go-kart engine is a 125cc 2-stroke engine with direct drive (2-speed gearbox), delivering around 34–36 horsepower (hp) at maximum output. The built-in gear system provides a different and more advanced driving experience compared to classes without gears, as the driver changes gears while driving. This contributes to both faster acceleration and higher top speed.
In terms of speed, a DD2 class go-kart can reach speeds of up to 130–140 km/h, depending on the track, gearing, and conditions. The extra top speed combined with gear changes means that the driver must have a high level of technical understanding, precision, and control—especially when braking and exiting corners, where correctly timed gear selection is crucial for a fast lap time.
By comparison, a rental go-kart typically runs between 40–70 km/h depending on the track and go-kart type.
The combination of high engine power, gearbox, and impressive speeds makes the DD2 class one of the most technically advanced and physically demanding classes in kart racing.
