Euro 4 Sarno Italy

Euro Trophy Round 4 – Sarno, Italy 🇮🇹

What a weekend... undoubtedly one of the toughest but also most educational ones so far.

  •  Qualification: P25. I drove without slipstreaming, as you are not allowed to stop on the track – everyone else did it anyway without penalty. That left me alone on the track and at the back of the field.
  • Heat 1: P25 ➝ P21. I wasn't quite up to speed yet on this difficult new track, but my decisions and overtaking were spot on.
  • Heat 2: P25 ➝ P18. Much better! The pace was strong, and my overtaking maneuvers worked perfectly, so I made good progress.
  • Heat 3: P25 ➝ DNF. I get hit in an accident and sent to the back of the pack. The same driver then decides to wait a lap and run me off the track again... incredibly, he only gets a one-place penalty.
  • Pre-final: P25 ➝ DNF. We tried new tires to go big and reach the final, but the combination of high grip and my height/weight meant that the kart went up on two wheels several times and wanted to flip itself. On the last lap, I was involved in another accident, which ended the weekend.

Not quite the results I wanted, but I learned a lot about setup on high-grip tracks, and despite the setbacks, my speed is better than ever.
The big challenge: My high center of gravity means that extreme grip at the end of the weekend can cause the kart to flip—something I need to learn to deal with in the future.

I'm going home faster, smarter, and hungrier than before 💪🔥

That's why I've set myself another goal: to lose 5 kg and get down to around 65 kg to lower my center of gravity. No excuses—now it's time to put in the work and find that last bit of speed in the kart.

My next race is on September 13-14. DRMC 5 in Ikast.

  1. That's a shame, but I hope it was educational and gave you some experience. It must have been quite an experience to see Naples and Pompeii. Glad you got away without any injuries😉. Here's to the next one😘. Kh fm and ff. See you at the weekend.
